candlestick cove condominiums - san francisco - 2005

KSDG carried this project from conceptual design through construction completion of the first 2 phases. this 900 unit condo community has lush garden courtyards and landscaped vista points. uniquely, the cove has 25 acres of passive recreation, public open space. it is the largest housing project ever built in san francisco, as well as, the largest open space built in san francisco since golden gate park�s completion in the 1870's. decades ago, soil was stripped away from these cliffs to infill the san francisco bay and construct runways at san francisco international airport. Seeds of plant species that are site specifically native were gathered and propagated to replant the open space with and stabilize the cliff.
